Simple to install and use.The output of this cable is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. Connecting this cable with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the cable to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. This cable will make the gage readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer base SPC programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.Readings can be triggered by any of the following: Pressing the push button on the USB Direct Cable Depressing a connected footswitch (not included) Pressing the standard data out button on the Mitutoyo gage connection This USB Direct Cable is easily configured to output data in different modes, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, right continuous reading, continuous reading with automatic 10, 15, or 30 second delay between readings, and others. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the USB Direct Cable. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
